White Wine - Bio
White Wine is an upcoming talent hailing from Toronto, Canada. Blending a mixture as cultured as the city he lives in, Wine has a cosmopolitan style of rap and reggae/dancehall. With a new love and passion for calypso music he is looking to move forward as one of the first recognized Canadians to produce quality soca records.
He has been rhyming and performing at live events since 2000. In a short six years, Wine has moved forward very quickly and gained much respect from major Canadian artists. Being the opening act for Juno award winners Choclair & Kardinal Offishall, Juno nominee's Citizen Kane and nationally acclaimed Monolith amongst many others; Wine is working from the ground up.
Wine has been featured on many Canadian radio shows including his own personal radio show on 93.5 CFFF Trent Radio. The show 'Inkwisition' was not only an open mic/freestyle show, but it was also a place for listeners to learn, grow and understand the hip hop culture. 'Inkwisition' lasted for two years and was considered by the radio station programmers to be the most informative and entertaining hip hop oriented radio show since the stations conception.
Taking the seat behind the boards White Wine has begun producing soca music for such accredited artists as Berbice (Grenada's Road March King 2007), Radford Ettienne, Tessa Sebro, Ragga and more.
White Wine is a hard working artist looking to make moves with his own blend of music. "Music is a gift and I want to be the one with my finger on the bow", says Wine. He is out to prove what he is capable of. You are guaranteed to have never heard such an original sound from a suburban artist.
